Lee following in Allen receiver tradition
Allen, Texas wide receiver Jay Lee played safety as a sophomore at nearby McKinney North High School. However, after transferring to Allen for his junior campaign, he was basically asked to fill the shoes of star receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu, who started at Texas A&M as a true freshman this past season.
Lee had the frame at 6-foot-2 and 191 pounds and speed - he has run the 200 meters in 22 seconds - but didn't have the experience of playing the position. Even so, he had plenty of help from quarterback Matt Brown, a TCU signee, and wound up catching 53 balls for 1,013 yards and 16 touchdowns. Against Plano West, he had four touchdowns and over 200 yards receiving in front of coaches from Oklahoma who were there to watch five-star defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat. He's already obtaining comparisons to Nwachukwu who was also a big-play receiver for the Eagles.
