Clark makes unofficial visit to Lubbock
Rockdale (Texas) offensive tackle Le'Raven Clark took in Texas Tech and Texas on Saturday night. It was an unofficial visit to West Texas for the 2011 Texas Tech commit, and the environment at Jones Stadium made Clark that much more anxious to get on the field himself.
"It was good, I had a lot of fun. There was a great atmosphere at the game, and it was an exciting game. It was really loud," Clark said. "It made me that much more excited to play in front of a crowd like that."
Clark was able to visit with all of the coaches while he was in Lubbock, but he spent most of his time in conversation with assistant coach Tommy Mainord. The two have gotten to know each other well during Clark's recruitment, and the relationship they've built doesn't offer up many surprises.
"I talked with Coach Mainord the most. He's a real cool guy. You always know what you're going to get with him. He talks with you straight-up and already makes you feel like you're a part of their family. We've got a really good relationship going."
The 6-foot-6, 245-pounder has continued to hear from other schools since giving his commitment to Texas Tech in June. Baylor, Missouri, and TCU being the three that have recruited him the hardest so far.
"I've been still hearing a lot from those schools. I don't have any other visits planned for the fall. I would say that I'm probably going to take my official visit to Texas Tech sometime after the season," he said. "The coaches have suggested that to us so we can get as much one-on-one time as possible. I'm still solid with Texas Tech right now. I'm still liking what they have to offer."
Aside from Texas Tech, Clark holds offers from Baylor, Colorado State, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, and Utah.
