Brewer enjoyed Tech's win
Austin (Texas) Lake Travis quarterback Michael Brewer made what will likely be his last trip to West Texas as a recruit this past weekend. The 2011 Tech commit will be enrolled in Lubbock in January, and he was pleased to have his last visit be an enjoyable one.
"I got in on Friday night with my mom and my sister. We just kind of hung out and enjoyed the town," Brewer said. "It was more of a laid back deal this time around since I've pretty much seen and talked to everyone at Tech. I got some of my housing issues settled and just enjoyed being in Lubbock."
"The game was just awesome. For all of the success that Missouri has had this year, and for them to come in with only one loss, we really stepped up to the challenge. That was as close of a full game as I've seen them play this year. Seeing both the offense and defense making good things happen was a great thing," he said. "Of course, the Wounded Warrior Project was really cool too. The jerseys looked great and it was for a great cause. It was a really fun game to be at. The crowd was really into it and I'm glad it ended up the way it did."
Brewer was also able to spend some time with the coaches and team, before and after the game.
"I got to visit with most of the coaches before the game, pretty much everyone. I was able to talk with them some and just wish them luck," he said. "I got to visit the locker room after the game and talk with a lot of them again there. They were all fired up and really excited. You could tell it was a really big win for the team."
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder was also able to enjoy the Red Raiders victory alongside some of his fellow Tech commits.
"I sat with Jace Amaro and LaDarrin Robertson during the game. It's always a lot of fun to hang out in that environment with the guys I'll be playing with down the road. We all had a really good time."
With this likely being Brewer's final visit to West Texas as a recruit, he was glad to be able to take in what could be classified as Tech's biggest win of 2010.
"I probably won't make it back to Lubbock before I enroll in January. Hopefully we're going to get into a long run here in the playoffs. It was a little strange to know this whole process has pretty much come to an end, but I'm glad this was the game I got for my final visit. I'm as excited as I've ever been to be a Red Raider."
Brewer committed to Texas Tech in March over offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Clemson, East Carolina, Kansas, Rice, Tennessee, Texas, and Tulsa.
