In-state OL visits Iowa
Class of 2014 offensive lineman Cole Turner has helped lead Cedar Rapids Xavier to a 13-0 record so far this year and a date with 13-0 Ankeny in the state championship game Friday. This past weekend, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound Turner took a break from the playoff run to attend Iowa's game against Purdue at Kinnick Stadium.
"I went down to Iowa on Saturday with a couple friends," said Turner. "I got to talk to Coach Brian Ferentz, the offensive line coach, so that was pretty exciting. Then we got to tour the facilities and all of that stuff. We ate there and stayed for the game. It's too bad they lost, but it was still pretty exciting."
The trip was Turner's third visit to Iowa this season and he attended their camp over the summer as well. As they get to know one another better, the Hawkeye coaching staff continues to evaluate the 2014 prospect on film.
