Hayes a prospect on the rise
Coming off his first full season of high school football his junior year, Silvester Hayes is a prospect on the rise. The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Dallas native could play outside linebacker or defensive end in college and already has four scholarship offers to his name with the latest coming from the Iowa Hawkeyes this past weekend.
"I found out about the Iowa offer from my coach. He was the first one that told me," said Hayes. "I guess their coaches told him they were tired of watching my film looking for a reason not to offer. They decided they had to have me, so they offered."
The Hawkeyes also offered Hayes' teammate at South Oak Cliff High School, Jyaz Jones, over the weekend as well. The coaching staff discovered the two while recruiting Jones' older brother, wide receiver Anjeus Jones, who signed with Iowa this month in the 2013 recruiting class.
