Nicholson excited about 'old school' defense

Warchant.com Preseason drills are just over a week away, but they can't come soon enough for Florida State linebacker Derek Nicholson.
The junior from North Carolina has worked the past 10 months for this. From the moment he underwent surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, Nicholson has spent countless hours striving for his return to the Seminoles' practice fields.
But to tell the truth, those first few practices of fall won't fully satisfy Nicholson's hunger. He wants to do more than run through drills in shorts and shoulderpads. He has had enough of non-contact workouts.
