Senior Bowl exclusive: Following Sam Baker
In years past, some of USC's top talent has tended to skip All-Star events like the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., instead letting pro scouts determine their draft status by reputation, game-film and personal workouts.
But after witnessing several disappointing draft days by former teammates, this year appears to be different.
With an unprecedented eight teammates joining him in Mobile, Sam Baker is using the week of practice and competition at the Senior Bowl to prepare himself for the NFL and solidify himself as a first round pick.
"I just want to come out here and compete with the best," Baker said, echoing the mantra that Pete Carroll preached to him for five years. "And to play along some of these defensive players is just awesome.
"It's a great life experience.
"There's a lot of difference in technique that's taught here. I've learned so much in just two days. I think it gives me a head start going into the NFL."
