Texas TE Goodwin adds offers

Cypress-Fairbanks High School in Texas has been a feeding ground for Division I coaches for decades.

Running back Sam McGuffie committed to Michigan and Chris Lathrop to Texas A&M last February, so who's next?

Six-foot-six tight end Colby Goodwin has emerged as the most popular Bobcat on campus and has received offers from Houston, Duke and Arkansas after a solid spring.

"He's got that type of frame that Division I coaches can project," Cy-Fair coach Ed Pustejovsky said. "He's very athletic and very physical for his size."

Goodwin's strength is run-blocking, seeing that Cy-Fair's offense is predicated around the running game, but he's a natural receiver.

"He's very smooth with his hands and his routes," Pustejovsky said. "As far as recruiting goes, I think he's a little surprised he's been offered so early. I think he's wide open with his decision though."

Goodwin has camped at Baylor and Kansas so far, and has attended Texas A&M's junior day.
