Video: Izzo says UNC might be best team he has faced
EAST LANSING - Tom Izzo wouldn't argue with those who believe that the 2008-2009 North Carolina basketball team has the potential to go down as one of the best ever college basketball teams.
That being the case, Izzo would like to have star freshman Delvon Roe available for more than the season-high 19 minutes he played against Wichita State. Izzo would also like to see the Big Ten's leading returning rebounder Goran Suton available for action.
But Izzo will not risk further injury to Roe by playing him extended minutes. Suton is also doubtful for No. 12 ranked Michigan State's Big Ten-ACC Challenge game at Ford Field Wednesday night.
"(North Carolina) is maybe the best team we've played since I've been here, if you look at them on paper and on film." said Izzo during his Tuesday press conference. "But like everybody says, there are ways you have to try and beat somebody. And we are going to try and do what we can."
Transition defense, rebounding, and execution on defense will be keys to Wednesday's game according to Izzo.
