Westfield WR bursting on the scene
Spring (TX) Westfield has been a Houston-area powerhouse for the last decade. The Mustangs always have one of the top defenses in the state, but recently their offense has been a force to be reckoned with as well. Behind Kansas quarterback commit Jacoby Walker and three Division I receivers in Ja-Mes Logan, Adam Watson and Barry Ford, the passing game put up big numbers a year ago. However, with all three receivers having graduated, most thought Walker's passing stats would fall of this season.
That has not been the case, though, as a new receiver has come on as the go-to man in Westfield's offense. Despite rarely needing to play the entire game, 6-foot-3, 196-pound junior Christian Jones leads the team in receiving with eight receptions for 175 yards and three touchdowns through three games. His combination of size and speed has landed him on the radar of many colleges.
