Hawks offer Texas RB
The last time Iowa assistant coach Bobby Kennedy visited Sachse High School in Texas he heard about a young running back with a lot of potential named Devine Ozigbo. The Hawkeye coaching staff kept an eye on the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Ozigbo during his junior year this season and when Kennedy returned this week he was ready to offer a scholarship.
"Today, during our athletic period, they called me into the coach's office and one of Iowa's coaches was in there," said Ozigbo. "I recognized him from last year because he was looking at one of our seniors and my head coach told him about me then and he said that he would be back for me next year."
"I thought he was probably just saying that, but today he said he told me that he'd be back," Ozigbo continued. "And that's when he offered."
Iowa is the second school to offer, joining Utah who extended one in the spring.
