Geoff Ketchum is the owner/publisher of Orangebloods.com. He's covered Texas Longhorn athletics for more nearly two decades. A former UT student that began his media career while working for the Texas Sports Information office while in high school, he quickly moved up the ladder on the UT sports scene. After leaving the UT media relations department, he spent four years with Austin CBS TV affiliate KEYE-TV, while helping the station break numerous national stories, including the hirings of Mack Brown and Augie Garrido as coaches at Texas. In 1999, Ketchum joined Rivals.com, where he served as lead columnist/analyst at Heisman.com and Lone Star Recruiting. In 2001, Ketchum launched Orangebloods.com and in less than a half a decade he led the site to the No.1 spot in the Rivals.com network, a position that it currently maintains.
Jason Suchomel joined Orangebloods.com in March of 2002. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Suchomel earned an undergraduate degree in Journalism in 1996. During his time at Texas, Suchomel wrote for the Daily Texan and interned in the sports department for KEYE television, helping in the daily production of the KEYE sportscast.
Chip Brown is an award-winning reporter who has been covering Texas and the Big 12 for Orangebloods.com since 2008. In the summer of 2010, Brown broke the story nationally about the Pac-10's attempt to add six schools from the Big 12. Brown appeared on ESPN almost daily during the story and was featured for his work by Sports Illustrated and CNBC. During that time, Brown's Twitter following went from 1,800 to 12,000 and is now north of 26,000. Brown received the Rivals.com Distinguished Service Award in 2011 for his realignment coverage.
Brown began his journalism career at SMU, where he was a student and covered the NCAA's "Death Penalty" sanctions against the football program. He worked for The Associated Press from 1988 to 1998 in Dallas, Lubbock and Austin. Brown began covering Texas football in 1992, when he moved to Austin with the AP while also covering the Texas Legislature. In 1998, he began covering Texas and the Big 12 for The Dallas Morning News. In 1999, he received a Headliner's Award for his sports reporting. Brown moved to Dallas and covered the Cowboys from 2001-03 for the DMN before moving back to Austin to resume coverage of the Longhorns in 2003. Brown is a Heisman Trophy voter and Harris Poll voter.
Orangebloods.com Recruiting Analyst
Jason Howell covers the University of Texas football recruiting for Orangebloods.com. From 2003 to 2005, Jason covered football, basketball, and recruiting for the Baylor Rivals.com site, SicEmSports.com. In 2005, Jason became the publisher of SicEmSports.com while continuing his coverage of the Baylor Bears. Jason joined Orangebloods.com in January of 2009, where he has traveled across the state of Texas in search of the best football talent Texas has to offer.
Taylor Gaspar is the head of the Orangebloods.com video department, focusing primarily on the University of Texas football and football recruiting. Taylor got her start in media immediately following graduation from the University of Texas. Her first job out of college was with an Austin radio station, where she created the video web segment Taylor TV. Taylor then made the move to Orangebloods.com, taking over the online video product. Taylor's work has been featured all over, including the leading sports websites Yahoo! Sports and SI.com.
