There have not been many times that I've agreed with anything you post, however, your post of Gilbert's picture throwing the football...and your questions...are legit. In sports, your hands will go where your eyes are...or more technically...to the point of your focus. Lack of gaze control, IMO, is one of the primary handicaps, that prevent physically talented players at skill positions from succeeding...whether it is a QB, a receiver, an infielder fielding attempting to field a ground ball, a pitcher trying to hit his spots (assuming he knows a little about pitching), or a batter trying to hit a pitched ball.
Balance and focus are both key components of getting the ball in the right plaece at the right time and, based on that one picture, it seems possible that they both could be issues. I commend you on the nature of your post...both the content and the fact that it was a question rather than a declarative statement.
