10/24 10:57 PM Hey I appreciate your response on my fan page to a threat I posted about a situation with my son on a Lewisville HS football team. I ended up keeping silent about it and I tend to view things as you do in that respect.
Coach "Olin" isn't actually my son's coach, but thanks for the correction.
Since I posted that thread things have continued to deteriorate. I am surprised by what I've seen and am very discouraged. I heard great things about Olin's days at BT. That doesn't seem to be showing up in his staff here in Lewisville. The JV HC actually stopped calling offensive plays the other night in the 4th qtr.
I continue to remain quiet about it, just talk to my son as he comes to me. And he's never done that before until this year. However, I do know there is a movement by parents to write letters. That whole "to hell with it, run whatever you want" just does't bode well for someone supposedly teaching kids not to be quitters.
Thanks again. I hope this thing works itself out as it's supposed to work. That would restore my faith in the system.

No one claimed that you were stating that the OP (not me) had a lack of character in all aspects of their lives, but that isn't what I responded to. A joke, whether in bad taste or not, doesn't not constitute a lack of character of any kind. It may show a lack of class or a bad choice of action, but those can both be based on something that has nothing to do with his character at the time of the joke. Character is your core beliefs that drive the majority of your actions...it doesn't control all of your actions.
I don't even remember the context of the original post (ie. what the tragedy was that the guy made a joke about) but this society has become a society of handwringers who project their hand-wringing obsession on to others. God wired us (men and women) differently for a reason, I'm not one for re-wiring for PC purposes.

College Baseeball it happens to be the best. I drove to Omaha with my dad after my senior year of High School and it was one of the best expieriences of my life.
