I heard that Booker slept with the big gold belt when he finally won it. I also heard Scott Steiner took it with him everywhere he went (he certainly wore it everywhere) when he won it. He would show it to everyone. Rumor also had it that Eddie slept with the belt when he won the Intercontinental Title. Kurt on the other hand wasn't as thrilled with the actual belt as other people were. I guess it came from having actual gold medals. He just loved the attention.
On the other hand, after a while some of the guys that got stuck in the mid card really cared less about the belts. By his 6th or 7th title reign with the IC Belt Chris one night put it down on the stage mangers table after the match and forgot to take it with him when he left the arena. He needed it for a house show while we leapfrogged to the next RAW site, so one of the production guys had to drive it to him at the airport.
When Adam and Jason won the tag team belts for the first time, the other guys had a lot of fun hiding the belts from them and goofing around with them about it. Well Andrew one day after he got out of the shower came out with just the belt on and told Adam that if he wanted it he would have to take it off of him. After that Adam and Jason wore the belts from the time they arrived at the arena until they left every night.

No mess. Kevin Sullivan was named booker after Russo and Bischoff were canned. Nancy had left Kevin for Benoit by that time, Benoit, Saturn, and Eddie were all unhappy with thier positions. Everyone tried placating Benoit with the title, but he still believed that he was going to get the high hard one from Kevin in the end, so he bolted.
The "coup" was that Vince was able to bury three of WCW's top guys live on Raw. It didn't matter by then. Nitro was alrady pretty much dead. Jamie Kellner finished it off by cancelling all wrestilng probram on Turner Stations a few months later.

Why are so many wrestlers from Texas or living in Texas? I dont keep up with it at all anymore and haven;t since the Midnight Rockers would wrestle and ESPN was still broadcasting it.

I am fascinated by the "lineage" of the different title belts.
