Fantastic, Don't Mess With Texas is the phrase that comes to mind after reading that, and I agree this should be archived!

Posted on 11/10 1:32 PM | IP: Logged

How is the defensive back (Mouton ??) from california that committed to michigan doing? Also, what was the qb's name (may have been a JUCO) that turned Mack down a few years ago and opted for some small school, UNLV I believe.

Posted on 11/10 4:16 PM | IP: Logged

Mouton and the DB/safety that went to ND, the QB that went to Miami and left are definitely additions to the list.

This should be submitted for a Pulitzer. Absolutely brilliant.

I believe that we have some closet ags and sooners on this forum. How could any REAL Longhorn fan NOT like this article? This just shows that it "pays" to be a Longhorn. If you tell Texas no - bad things will happen to you. If I was a big time recruit and Texas was interested in me, I would be scared to death NOT to yes to the Horns.

Always remember that God is a Longhorn - if not, why is the sunset burnt orange?

Great job Ketch!!! May the mighty Force be with you!

Mouton has been a pretty solid LB for Michigan. The only negative I've seen is that he punched a ND player and got a one game suspension. Kind of a minor deal.

Watch out Devon Kennard..

Awesome article Ketch. This article is just stating facts, nothing more nothing less.

BTW, I see that a few people are not a fan of the article. This is a pretty well-known topic that's been discussed in the media all of the nation.

Mack's been asked about it at various times, although he's declined to really comment as you might expect.

The bottom line is that we're not breaking new ground in the discussion. We're just looking back at the topic that people are already discussing quite a bit.

Perhaps - my thoughts on the curse had to do with people who jerked around UT, not just chose to go elsewhere. There are hundreds who just chose to go elsewhere who had great careers.

A similar story focused on those guys is next in line. Eli Manning is a candidate to start at quarterback.

after y'all finish that one, how about one on guys who bled burnt orange, were never offered, then starred elsewhere....that article will be the most interesting of them all.

I stole this from a poster earlier so I can't take credit for it, but this exemplifies the MBC.

I have always thought of this as the Mack Brown Blessing. The Good Lord has shown His light upon the Hornz by keeping these guys out of Dodge.

Hook 'em!!!

I have never heard it mentioned anywhere but on this site.

Then you haven't been paying attention.

"This article already making the rounds on some other sites and you guys are getting absolutely blasted (as you should) for writting such an article"

Oh please.

Excellent article.

These are grown men, not "kids," which is a term for 18-22 year old men that didn't even exist a generation ago.

I would have added Adrian Petersen too though. Yes, he's making money, but he's a traitor for life. And the reason he went to OU ("winning championships") never panned out for him. He finished with a 1-2 record against THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS while playing as a Sooner proxy for the fans who hate his used-to-be home state. You just know, deep in the heart of this one time Texan turned Oklahoman, that he wishes he could go back and do it all over again and get it right this time.

But grown men only get one chance to screw up with Mack Brown, and so he can count his money now while always seeing a traitor looking back in the mirror.

Just a great article, and fun read. Screw all the wusses who don't like it.

Great read Ketch and Such. Don't listen to some of these vags.

Seriously, some take themselves (and this site) way too seriously.

Seriously.

Exactly!? We now have two request for stories following up on this one that are negative toward Texas. I sometimes wonder if some people really are Texas fans.

This was a fun story and should be taken at that.

How about an article on "camp fever" commits who basically took up roster space?

I kind of miss those days. The summer camps would produce some real wildcards. I'll never forget the day Jason Barron committed.
