Big 12 midway point awards

The Big 12 conference season reached its halfway point over the weekend, and at the midway point it looks like No. 1 Kansas is running away with things with an 8-0 league record. The Jayhawks are three losses better than any other team in the conference.

But the rest of the conference has shown just how tough the Big 12 is with teams routinely beating up one another. Eight teams are within 2.5 games of one another, and the road has been a perilous place for visiting Big 12 teams.

Kansas, however, isn't out of the woods as the Jawhawks still have to hit the road at Texas, Texas A&M and Missouri. Meanwhile, Texas is hitting the skids as it has lost four of its last six and Oklahoma State has lost two straight.

On the other end of the spectrum is Texas A&M which snapped Missouri's 32-game home win streak and knocked off rising Baylor to be a surprising 6-3 and tied in second with Kansas State despite the loss of top defender and second-leading scorer Derrick Roland for the season.

There is still a long way to go and lots of big time games left to play, but halfway through here are the best of the best in the Big 12.
