Roberson standing out at Florida powerhouse

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - St. Thomas Aquinas is always one of the top, if not the top, schools in the state of Florida. The Raiders can usually be found near the top of the national rankings as well. It is no surprise, then, that they have several top college prospects.

Last year, the team's entire secondary signed with Division I FCS schools, so it was hard for Marcus Roberson to see much playing time. However, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound defender is now one of the top prospects in the Sunshine State.

On Wednesday, college coaches from at least six different conferences lined the practice field at the Fort Lauderdale school watching Roberson and several other elite players. At one point, the entire crowd had their eyes on the big defensive back as he read the quarterback's eyes, stepped in front of a pass and easily returned it for a touchdown. It is all in a day's work as he has taken to the star role well. Though he plays a lot of free safety for the Raiders, he worked out at cornerback as well.
