Will UConn offer jumbo WR?

Flushing (N.Y.) Holy Cross wide receiver Devon Cajuste now has scholarship offers from eight different schools but UConn is not one of them. Do the Huskies plan on getting more involved or are they looking in different directions?

In spite of the fact that Cajuste does not hold an offer from the Huskies he has a high level of interest in Connecticut. The coaching staff has made their interest clear -- they just haven't taken the next step in extending an invitation to join the program.

"We have a good relationship," Cajuste said of the UConn coaches and himself. "They talk to me occasionally but they'll also give me space when I need it. They're respectful.

"I have visited them. I can't remember the exact month it was but it was a few months ago for an individual junior day. I liked everything, actually. The facilities, the coaching staff, the way they run their practices. I was really impressed with the environment. It seems like a peaceful place."

Boston College, Penn State, Rutgers and Stanford are a few of the schools that have offered Cajuste. Why haven't the Huskies?

"They're still looking at me but they haven't given me a scholarship. From my point of view they're just still waiting to see what they're going to do with me."

Cajuste will be making a cross country trip to Stanford from June 21-23. He is talking about the possibility of visiting Harvard and Boston College, though he has already been to both schools. Cajuste also said he might take trips to Rutgers and UConn, but those aren't set in stone yet. The only trip that has been finalized is the one to Stanford in a couple of weeks.

He does plan on taking official visits before making his decision.
