Cottrell adds offer at Oregon camp
The Oregon Ducks like the State of Texas. The current Duck roster boasts five Lone Star State standouts, and if Chip Kelly has his way, more will join the ranks on national signing day. Plano West defender Bryce Cottrell landed an offer from Oregon during his trip to Eugene last week.
Duck Sports Authority caught up with the nation's 28th-ranked defensive end to get the details of his visit.
"I loved Eugene," remarked Cottrell. "It's nice and green and there isn't much not to like about it."
Cottrell had family with him to assist with the evaluation.
"I was with my mom and brother on the trip," said Cottrell. "We went to the Oregon camp. I was there for one day. I loved it. It was really nice."
While many teams are looking at the 6-foot-3, 230 defensive star at end, the Ducks made their offer at ILB.
"I am being recruited by Oregon at linebacker," Cottrell said. "Coach Pellum is my contact. I love Coach Pellum. He's a really nice guy and he's very knowledgeable. We've been in contact four or five months."
