Cornerback commitment has big game

This certainly wasn't the most eventful past weekend for Sooner prospects, with two players having the weekend off, and another going down injured, the voting for top honors this might end up as a default nomination.

However, in games that involved Sooner players the future of the Crimson and Cream managed to go 4-2. Players with the week off were fittingly last weekend's official visitors, Corey Wilson and Desmond Jackson. Wilson returns to action this weekend against fellow district favorite Lewisville Hebron, while Jackson will get district play going against Bastrop.

With Wilson out there was only one Sooner commitment playing in the Dallas metroplex, Arlington Seguin three-star cornerback Jamell Fleming had a 19-yard touchdown catch as the Cougars won 23-20 over cross city rival Arlington Sam Houston. Interestingly enough Fleming's touchdown catch was set up by Deaundre Brown, a talented junior who figures to be a top target for the Sooners in the class of 2008.
