Swope runs 10.7-second 100-meter at state

Austin Westlake athlete Ryan Swope took some time off from football on May 10 for the UIL Texas Class 5A state track meet where he ran the 100-meter dash. For most athletes, a sub-11 second time is the pinnacle if a high school career.

At the state championship, however, you better hit a sub-11 second time if you hope to even place. All eight finalists clipped the 11-second mark with Swope, a Texas A&M commit, finishing fifth with a time of 10.7 seconds.
