The Red Raiders land Gray

Lewisville Hebron offensive lineman Joel Gray's recruitment has officially come full circle. Last September Texas Tech became the first program of 25 to eventually offer Gray, and today, Gray rewarded the Red Raiders with a commitment.

"I'm going to Texas Tech," he exclaimed. "I'm going to be a Red Raider!"

Gray, who had narrowed his options down to Texas Tech and Stanford, took the time to explain his decision to

"It just felt like home," said the massive lineman. "When I visited there I just felt like I was home and I liked that. The players really felt at home you could just tell. And as a result they made sure I felt at home, and I really, really liked that."

The three-star lineman also explained that Tech's coaching staff played a big role in his decision.

"The coaches there are great too," he said. "They're really young and I just really hit it off with them. I feel like I can relate to them and I know that they really wanted me there. I also love that they're great coaches and they know what they're doing."

As for the recruiting process, Gray says he's officially finished.

"I'm so excited man, I can't even explain it," he said. "It's a really big weight off my shoulders and I'm so glad just to have the whole thing over with. I'm done. I'm 100% committed to Tech and won't be doing anything else. I'm not like a soft commitment or anything like that, I'm 100% committed."

This commitment is huge for Tech, as Gray was obviously one of the top targets remaining on their board at this point. Stay tuned to this week for more coverage of Gray's commitment.
