Being selected to the U.S. Army All-American game is a tremendous individual honor. But for two players in Texas, this week's announcement was a family affair.

At Brownwood (Texas) High, wide receiver Jaxon Shipley was able to experience an honor his older brother, Jordan, received in 2004. Jordan Shipley now plays for the Cincinnati Bengals.

"It's just an honor and I never would have imagined both my sons would have an opportunity to play in this game," Bob Shipley, Brownwood's coach and the father of Jaxon and Jordan, said. "I'm very proud of them. I hope this is the first step in many in Jaxon following in Jordan's footsteps."

Meanwhile, at Abilene (Texas) High, the selection of Herschel Sims was viewed as a statement for the school's program.

"It's a real testament not only to the way that he's played but to our program's success," Abilene head coach Steve Warren said. "It's exciting for him, his family and all of our families."

Excelling at both carrying the ball and catching it out of the backfield, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Sims is ranked as the No. 3 all-purpose back and the No. 48 overall prospect in the country.
