Future Horns: Cedric Baxter shows out

It was an eventful week for Texas commits around the Lone Star State and beyond. From Johntay Cook showing off his playmaking skills to Arch Manning throwing touchdowns, there was a lot that happened on Labor Day Weekend.

Here’s an overview of the action.

***

Arch Manning kicked off his senior season with a bang, as Isidore Newman knocked off Hahnville 35-14. Manning picked up where he left off last season and threw multiple touchdowns in the week one victory.

***

Cedric Baxter and Edgewater are 2-0 on the season after a 34-10 win over Don Bosco Prep on Friday night. The four-star back ran for 272 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries as he continues to put up big numbers in the Sunshine State.

***

Tre Wisner and DeSoto fell to nationally ranked St. Frances Academy on Saturday in Ft. Worth. Wisner opened the game with a big kickoff return to set the Eagles up for the first points of the game.

***

Johntay Cook followed up the Wisner kick return with a touchdown reception of his own, as he has found the end zone in both games so far to start the season. Both Wisner and Cook take on Malik Muhammad and Billy Walton this upcoming Saturday.

***

Jonah Wilson and DeKaney pulled off a nail biting 41-38 win on Friday night over Strake Jesuit. Wilson showed off his catch radius during the game and came down with a big touchdown in the victory.
