Horns score 5-star commit from Myles Turner

After a very long - and for the college coaches that have been waiting a bit, torturous - wait, five-star 2014 big man Myles Turner (Euless Trinity) finally announced his decision on Wednesday afternoon. Somewhere on the 40 Acres, the Texas coaches lost their minds as the nation's No. 9-ranked prospect overall in the Rivals150 picked Texas.
For Texas, the battle was mostly against Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks and to a lesser extent Duke, which tried to make a late push.

Turner gives Texas a bonafide stud, potential lottery pick in the middle who will compliment a veteran Longhorn team very well thanks to his shot-blocking ability and rare inside-outside game for a 6-11 player.
After striking out on five-stars in Texas the last couple of years, Turner is one of the biggest gets of Barnes' career and puts Texas firmly back on the college basketball map.
Turner joins forward Jordan Barnett (St. Louis Christian Brothers College High) as a member of the Longhorns' 2014 recruiting class.
Orangebloods.com was on hand for Turner's signing ceremony and will have more coverage of Turner's announcement later this afternoon.
