In the Lone Star State there are three things you can count on in life: Death, taxes and the University of Texas dominating in football recruiting.

A combined 13-12 record in the last two seasons hasn't slowed down the Longhorn recruiting train in 2012, as Mack Brown and Co. dominated the final edition of the Lone Star Recruiting Top 100 for 2012.
Just how dominant were the Longhorns? In all they landed 22 commitments among the top 100, which is currently 10 more than any other school that recruits the state of Texas. Plus, the 18 prospects they were able to lasso from the top 50 is more than Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU combined.
Leading the way for the Longhorns are five commitments that finished the year ranked in the top 10 in the state: Aledo running back Johnathan Gray (No.1), Brenham defensive tackle Malcom Brown (No.3), Athens athlete Kendall Sanders, Austin High wide receiver Cayleb Jones (No.8) and Pearland Dawson offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle (No.9). Overall, the Longhorns landed five of the top nine, 12 of the top 25 and 18 of the top 44
Meanwhile, the Longhorns weren't the only school to make a sizeable impact on the Lone Star State recruiting landscape. As they head off into SEC pastures, Texas A&M put together a strong No.2 class inside of Texas, landing the second-most top 100 commitments on the list with 12 - eight of which are ranked inside the state top 50.
Outside of the Longhorns and Aggies, no other team has been able to crack the double-digit mark with commitments on the list, although Baylor is one away with nine, while TCU (7), Texas Tech (6) and Oklahoma State (6) round up the rest of the list of impactful recruiting efforts in the Lone Star State.
Perhaps the most surprising number when looking at the list of committed players is the lack of impact by the Oklahoma Sooners, who have only three commitments in the top 100 this season, solidifying the trend of Bob Stoops relying on Texas talent as the centerpiece of his program.
As far as the actual rankings are concerned, there weren't a lot of major moves in the final revision of the list, but two players made moves inside the top 10 - San Antonio defensive tackle Javonte Magee (from No.14 to No.7) and Fort Bend Hightower athlete Bralon Addison (from No.13 to No.10).
Others that made noteworthy climbs in the final list: Mesquite Horn defensive back DeVante Harris (from No.24 to No.14), Dallas Wilmer Hutchins defensive back LaDarrell McNeil (from No.35 to No.24), San Antonio Reagan quarterback Trevor Knight (from No.42 to No.29), Tenaha athlete Reginald Davis (from No.56 to No.36), Van linebacker Dalton Santos (from No.63 to No.41) and Longview wide receiver Eric Hawkins (from No.76 to No.48).
