1. OL - Ofa Mohetau - Euless Trinity
Comment: The top spot still belongs to Mohetau, although I thought long and hard about flip-flopping him with Adams.
2. TE - Tony Hills Jr. - Alief Elsik
Comment: Anyone that doesn't have this kid rated at the very top of their list needs to have his/their collected heads examined.
3. OL -Jorrie Adams - Jasper
Comment: Almost moved into the top spot this month. Honestly, you could argue that any of the top three deserve to be ranked No.1
4. DE - Tim Crowder - John Tyler
Comment: Might be my favorite player in the state. I've loved his talent since watching him in person last season and his amazing workout numbers at various summer camps warranted the move up. At 6-4, 230 pounds, Crowder runs a blistering 4.67 40-yard dash. He's big-time.
5. LB - Justin Warren - Tyler Lee
Comment: Warren's commitment to the Aggies gives A&M one of their best overall commitments in recent years.
6. DE - Jarvis Moss - Denton Ryan
Comment: This might be too low for Moss because he has the type of talent to end up as the state's top overall prospect.
7. CB - Michael Griffin - Austin Bowie
Comment: The crowned jewel is a deep DB class this year. Griffin has everything it takes to be a star at the next level.
8. DB - Tony Cade - Lewisville
Comment: A vicious hitter with a knack for making the big play.
9. DT - Xavier Lawson-Kennedy - Duncanville
Comment: While opinions may vary in regards to some other positions, there's absolutely no doubt that XLK is the state's finest interior defensive lineman.
10. DB - Tarell Brown - North Mesquite
Comment: While Griffin is my guy, Jason S. rates Brown as his choice for the state's top cornerback prospect.
11. OL  - Ian Cunningham - Lewisville Hebron
Comment: It amazes me that Cunningham has yet to earn an offer from the top schools in-state because his talent is almost as high as any lineman the state has produced in recent years.
12. DE - Alonzo Dotson - Alief Hastings
Comment:  His 4.32 shuttle time at the Nike Camp gives you an idea of just how much potential this kid has as a pass rusher.
13. LB - Demarrio Pleasant - Lewisville
Comment: Pleasant has a tendency to disappear at times on film, but when he's on, he's an impact player.
14. DE - Bruce Davis - Houston Clear Lake
Comment: Word from the UCLA summer camp was that Davis was among the top overall prospects on hand and that he dazzled the Bruin coaches with his athleticism.
15. RB - Erick Hardeman - Pflugerville
Comment: Hardeman has it all - speed, power, quickness, allusiveness and perhaps most important, he has the grades.
16. DE - Tim Washington - SL Dulles
Comment: Washington has a great frame and could end up playing inside or out at the next level.
17. WR - Tyrell Gatewood - Tyler Chapel Hill
Comment: In my opinion, the title for the state's top wide receiver is still a toss-up. Perhaps we'll have a definitive answer after this season, but for now the East Texas product remains No.1
18. WR - Limas Sweed - Brenham
Comment: His size, strength and jumping ability give him more big-play potential than Gatewood, but he's probably not quite as polished.
19. Ath - Billy Pittman - Cameron
Comment: This do-it-all athlete is another of the outstanding defensive back prospects in the state this year.
20. LB - Lamar Mitchell - Dayton
Comment: Physical ability is outstanding, but is he a great football player?
21. DB - Erick Jackson - Duncanville
Comment: Jackson combines outstanding cover ability with an aggressive, hard-hitting approach to the game.
22. Ath - Steve Richardson - Garland
Comment:  Every year there's a player that reminds me a little of Nathan Vasher and this year that guy is Richardson.
23. DE - Jason Jack - Humble
Comment: Doesn't get the attention he deserves because of overall depth of DE class.
24. DB - Cory Campbell - Houston Westbury
Comment: Some feel like Campbell might be the best safety in the state.,

25. OL - Dallas Griffin - Katy Taylor
Comment: The Longhorns have been looking for a top center prospect for years and they've finally found their man in Griffin.
26. Ath - Robert Johnson - Waco
Comment: Johnson leads the second tier of wide receiver prospects in-state.
27. Ath - Michael Turner - Fort Worth Dunbar
Comment: While most like Hardeman as the state's top backs, several schools rate Turner at the top of their board because of his speed and big-play ability.
28. TE  - Joey Thomas - Austin Westlake
Comment: The state's second-best tight end prospect is one of the Aggie's top commitments.
29. OL - Corey Clark - Smithson Valley
Comment: In-state schools have balked at offering, so be surprised if Clark heads out of state.
30. LB - Robert Killibrew - Klein
Comment:  Athletically speaking, Killibrew has few peers. His performance at the A&M Nike Camp was one of the most impressive testing showings I've seen in the past few years.
31. DB - Darien Williams - North Mesquite
Comment: Another member of the Stallion's star-studded secondary, Williams made a big impression this spring and rates as one of the Metroplex's top defensive prospects.
32. QB - James Battle - Denton Ryan
Comment: Battle doesn't own any state passing records, but he has a state title ring on his hand. His mobility gives him an added dimension that some of the other top quarterbacks in-state don't possess.
33. OL - Cody Wallace - Cuero
Comment: After seeing Wallace on film and in person at the CenTex Combine in February, there's no question in my mind that Wallace is a terrific college prospect.
34. DE - Lionel Dotson - Pasadena Dobie
Comment:  Like the other star DE named Dotson, Lionel comes off the corner in a hurry and he usually has bad intentions in store for whomever has the ball.
35. LB - WR - Rashad Turner - Marshall
Comment: I'm a big fan of Turners and with a big senior season, he could push Gatewood and Sweed for the state top receiver title.
36. DT - Steve Coleman - Dallas Skyline
Comment:  Coleman's stock among college coaches really took off after a great spring. He'll be one to keep an eye on once the season starts.
37. LB  - Darius Ingram - Tenaha
Comment:  Another East Texas playmaker that is receiving heavy interest from top D1 programs. The Stoops brothers at OU are very high on this kid.
38. Ath - Calvin Roberts - Port Arthur Memorial
Comment: Roberts will lead a very dangerous and talented Memorial team this season.
39. QB/Ath - Eric Foreman - Camden Corrigan
Comment: Most schools continue to recruit him as an athlete, but I loved the potential he showed at quarterback at the Nike Camp.
40. DB - Ashton Youboty - Klein
Comment: A few coaches have told me that Youboty might be the best prospect in the Klein area.. While that may or may not be true, it does give you an indication of his talent.
41. QB - Devin Williams - Arlington Sam Houston
Comment: Few players in the state are as exciting to watch as Williams is when the ball is in his hands.
42. QB - Drew Tate - Baytown Lee
Comment: While I'm not quite as high on Tate as some others, you cannot ignore the fact that he's put up some impressive numbers during his career.
43. OL - Dustin Moore - Brenham
Comment: Sweed gets all of the attention, but Moore is a very good prospect in his own right. One thing that I really like about Moore is his tenacity and ability to finish his blocks.
44. WR - Bennie Swain - Houston Madison
Comment: Another top-flight in-state prospect that looks to be heading out of state.
45. RB - Ronald Simmons - A. Maceo Smith
Comment: Nothing flashy about his game, but his productivity if outstanding.
46. QB - Matt Flynn - Tyler Lee
Comment: There are quite a few people who have Flynn rated as the state's top quarterback prospect.
47. Ath - Tommy Devereaux - Duncanville
Comment: Of all the top Duncanville prospects, Devereaux has the most potential to climb the charts in the coming months.
48. DE/LB - Ta Ta Thompson - Garland
Comment: DE or LB? That's one of the big questions about Thompson as he prepares for his senior season.
49. DB - Steve Craver - Hurst LD Bell
Comment: The younger brother of former Nebraska standout Keyou Craver.
50. RB - Marcus Cross - Houston Worthing
Comment: One of the Houston Area's top offensive talents.
51. CB - Willie Hodge - Houston Forest Brook
Comment: Could play several different positions in college, although most schools like him as a defensive back.
52. WR - Brandon Clark - El Paso Coronado
Comment: The El Paso area's best recruit since Rufus Brown.
53. RB - Richuel Massey - Hillsboro
Comment: State champion powerlifter poised for a super senior season.
54. RB - Brenton Bolden - Houston Clear Creek
Comment: Another running back that is known for his big-play potential.
55. DT - Tate Pittman - Odessa Permian
Comment: With a strong senior season, Pittman might emerge as the top prospect in West Texas.
56. OL - Kyle Thornton - Dallas St. Mark's
Comment: Unlike his brother Kalen, this Thornton could follow dad's footsteps into the Big 10.
57. OL - Will Oliver - Lindale
Comment: Although he plays guard for Lindale, Oliver was recruited by the Aggies to play center.
58. Ath - Marcus Johnson - Abilene
Comment: Like Pittman, Johnson is one of the top prospects in West Texas this year.
59. DL - Brad Girtman - Houston Memorial
Comment: Although there are several defensive tackles rated above him, Girtman might have the most upside of any of them.
60. DB - Brandon Foster - Arlington Bowie
Comment: While he's not the biggest cornerback prospect in the state, Foster excels in man coverage because of his speed and quickness.
61. DB - Eric Mayes - Humble
Comment: Mayes is a big hitter that makes a lot of plays.
62. DE - Chris Harrington - Houston St. Pius
Comment: Yet another defensive end prospect that has a lot of ability and an even higher upside.
63. TE - Steve Hogan - Houston Strake Jesuit
Comment: Hogan's physical attributes are off the charts. He'll be one of the first players I want to watch this season.
64. DE - John Williams - Houston Lamar
Comment: Add another name to the list of outstanding defensive end prospects in-state.
65. LB - Nasio Toutai - Euless Trinity
Comment: A hard-hitting, run-stopping machine. Some college is going to get themselves a steal in Toutai.
66. LB - David Nixon - A&M Consolidated
Comment: This outstanding linebacker could decide between BYU and Texas A&M in the near future.
67. Ath - Joe Jon Finley - Arlington
Comment: Wants to play quarterback, but his best position at the next level is probably at tight end.
68. RB - James Johnson - Port Arthur Memorial
Comment: I'll say it again, how scary will be to see Johnson and Calvin Roberts in the same backfield this season?
69. QB - Ricky Joe Meeks - Mount Vernon
Comment: If the Mustangs can keep him committed, Phil Bennett will have a real quarterback to build his program around.
70.   DT - Thomas Marshall - Dallas Bishop Dunne
Comment: The Longhorns won't need Marshall to come in and play right away when he lands on the 40 Acres. However, he might develop into a real force with a few years of development.
71.   LB - Jeremy Castillo - Corsicana
Comment: When he's on the field, this kid makes a lot of plays. Size is the only question mark.
72. OL - Khari Martin - Dayton
Comment: The Razorbacks stole a very good one from the Texas schools early on in the process.
73. CB - Chris Houston - Austin LBJ
Comment: A foot ailment has kept this kid off the field in recent month's, but he's a player and his stock could rebound with a strong senior campaign.
74. Avery Cleveland - Austin LBJ
Comment: Upon further review, Cleveland was rated too low in last week's rankings in my opinion.
75. DB - Dominique Brooks - North Mesquite
Comment: The trio of Brooks, Tarell Brown and Darien Williams gives North Mesquite the best secondary in the state.
76. TE - Tremayne Standberry - Lewisville
Comment: Solid prospect that is very effective, if not flashy.
77. RB - Derrick Brown - Klein Oak
Comment: Early commitment to A&M gives the Ags one of the state's top backs.
78. QB - Phillip Daughtery - Bridgeport
Comment: With his early commitment to Tech, Daughtery could be the quarterback of the future in Lubbock.
79. Lamar Williams - Beaumont Westbrook
Comment: Massive offensive line prospect that has great strength and good feet for a kid of his size.
80. DL/OL - Red Bryant - Jasper
Comment: Most people think of him as a defensive lineman prospect, but he might be better suited for offense.
81. OL - Chris Yoder - Kingwood
Comment: Another prospect that is headed out of state.
82. WR - Marcus Brook - Lindale
Comment: Keep an eye on this East Texas playmaker because he's currently one of the most unheralded receivers in the state.
83. CB - Ricky McKinley - Austin Reagan
Comment: One of my sleeper picks that could emerge into a top 50 prospect by signing day.
84. Ath - Champ Davis - Plano West
Comment: Doesn't have great speed, but size and overall athleticism make him an intriguing prospect.
85. TE - David Weems - Conroe Oak Ridge
Comment: His offer lists suggest that he might be a little underrated at this spot.
86. CB - Alfred Mike - Houston Madison
Comment: Very aggressive corner prospect that is attracting major college interest.
87. LB - Scott Derry - Pearland
Comment: Derry might be the Drew Tate of the state's linebacker prospects this year. He doesn't have the greatest athletic stats, but you cannot argue that his productivity is off the charts.
88. QB - Kris Heavner - Johnson City
Comment: Strong-armed quarterback is keeping his options open for right now.
89. RB - Titus Brothers - Converse Judson
Comment: Brothers might be the best prospect in the San Antonio area this year.
90. WR - Darrell Kitchen - Galveston Ball
Comment: Mark Kitchen down as another big-time sleeper prospect that could really emerge with a strong senior season.
91. OL - Beau Tuft - Houston Westside
Comment: One expert that I spoke with recently rates Tuft as one of the most underrated players in the state.
92. LB - Victor DeGrate - DeSoto
Comment: One college coach from the Metroplex area told me that he thinks DeGrate's upside could make him one of the top 25 prospects in the state.
93. OL - Zane Tomlin - San Antonio Clark
Comment: Yet another offensive lineman t keep your eye on.
94. DE - Robert Graves - Dallas Lincoln
Comment: Might not have the size/mass that some schools are looking for, but few players in the state rush the passer as well as Graves.
95. Ath - Devin Johnson - Amarillo Palo Duro
Comment: Locale probably keeps him from getting the attention he deserves.
96. TE - Omar McKenzie - FB Dulles
Comment: Might be the best blocking tight end in the state.
97. Ath - Syndric Steptoe - Bryan
Comment: Could play on either side of the ball in college, but his ability as a return man might be his asset.
98. DB - Courtney Fields - Dallas Roosevelt
Comment: One of the best players in the DISD.
99. K - David Dyches - Spring Westfield
Comment: The state's top place-kicking prospect.
100. CB - Danny Cobbin - Dallas Carter
Comment: Great speed and cover sills, only height is keeping Cobbin from the top of the rankings.
Note: Two players that were not ranked this month, but will no doubt be ranked in next month's rankings are Lewisville Hebron linebacker Lewis Baker and Garland Naaman Forest defensive back Melvin Bullitt. Both players were unranked this month because I've yet to see them on film or in person. However, based on reports I have from several different sources, both players could jump into the top half of the list very soon.
