Reed set to decide

Cleveland, Texas defensive end Cedric Reed has been one of the most hotly pursued 2011 prospects in the Lone Star State, with offers pouring in from across the country.
With well over 20 scholarship offers on the table, Reed has been quick to say a decision would be coming "soon" over the past couple of months. Now it appears "soon" is upon us.

On Friday at noon, the 6-5, 240-pound prospect will announce his decision at Cleveland High School.
"I guess he's seen enough," Reed's father Leric Reed said. "We went to UT's spring game and A&Ms spring game, and I guess he saw enough to make his decision."
Reed has taken multiple visits to Texas and Texas A&M in the last month, and he has also visited Oklahoma and LSU over the course of the process.
Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU, and Nebraska were listed as his five finalists heading into his Friday announcement, with many speculating that Texas and Texas A&M are the two frontrunners for his commitment.
As for what factors he will consider when making his decision, Reed stated in his most recent interview with AggieYell.com there was one factor which stood above the rest.
"The trust I built with the defensive line coach first and foremost," he said. "How comfortable I feel with them. That's pretty much it. I try to call all of them once a week. I talk to pretty much all of the defensive line coaches. The depth charts determine it a little bit but I'm not scared of competition."
Reed is currently ranked No. 13 in the Lone Star Recruiting Top 100 and was named to the Rivals250 to Watch list.
He holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma St., Rice, Stanford, Texas Tech, USC and Vanderbilt in addition to his five finalists.
