Lake Dallas cornerback Kobe Boyce committed to Texas a little over a week ago.

The 6-0, 170-pound Boyce remains very happy with his decision and doesn't intend on wavering on his pledge, but he did make some Longhorn fans a bit nervous over the weekend with an unofficial visit to Texas A&M. Boyce says the Texas fan base has no need to worry.

Key quote: "It was a good visit but I'm still committed to Texas. I'm still going to be committed no matter what," Boyce said.

A&M visit was "nice": Boyd was in College Station for the Aggies' spring football game on Saturday. Overall he said he enjoyed the visit, including A&M's facilities.

"It was pretty nice, the stuff they had and everything," Boyce said. "Stuff like the locker room, the team lounge."

A&M not giving up: The Aggies actually extended a scholarship to Boyce on April 1, one day before Texas offered him and two days before Boyce committed to the Longhorns. Despite the quick commitment to Texas, the A&M staff told Boyce they'll continue to recruit him.

"They were saying 'No matter what, we're going to recruit you until the end until you sign,'" Boyce said.

Conversations with Texas: Boyce has been in contact with Texas since the visit to A&M, chatting with assistant coach Jeff Traylor on Twitter. The Texas staff was well aware of his visit plans and Boyce said the coaches didn't have a problem with him checking out another campus.

"At the (Texas) junior day when I went to it, coach Strong said he wants us to take our visits, see everywhere. I did that, but they know I'm 100 percent committed."

Up next: Boyce will be in Austin this weekend for the Orange-White game. That's the only visit on his schedule, and he said he's still very happy with his Texas commitment.

"I just always I knew I wanted to go there. I would always say if Texas ever offered me, I was going to commit," Boyce said. "So they did and I pulled the trigger."

Bottom line: If you're Texas, you'd obviously prefer your committed players are visiting your campus only, but this one just doesn't feel like there's any need to worry. Boyce committed to UT less than 24 hours after receiving his Texas offer and he's always been pretty open about how strongly his feelings are for Texas. The wheels would really have to come off for Boyce to seriously entertain the idea of going anywhere else.
